The electrical panel is the hub of all the electrical distribution in a home or office.  It is important to maintain the panel up to the current national codes.  For homes that are older than 20 years, you should probably consider in updating the panel.

Older electrical panels such as, Federal Pacific Electric (FPE), Zinsco or Sylvania panels have been known to be a safety hazard.

Some of the reasons why that these older panels are unsafe:

• The circuit breakers may fail to trip in the case of an overload or short-circuit.
• In some instances, the breakers have been known to fall out when the cover is removed.  Loose contacts can also create arcing and heat up the breaker causing it to fail.

 If you suspect that you have one of these panels currently in your home, don't delay and call us today.  Protect your home by having a licensed electrician in your home to check your current electrical panel.
